Regardless, this ever-evolving industry has many myths that are simply untrue. With any and all information at our fingertips, how do you distinguish between fact and myth? No need to keep wondering, because we are here to debunk five myths about boudoir photography.

1. It’s Pornography

We begin with one of our most common myths. Boudoir is all about empowerment! We want to bring about an emotional response to an artistic depiction of beauty. We do not consider classical art portraits, even the more risqué ones, as pornographic and boudoir photography is no exception.

We are here to debunk five myths about boudoir photography! No it's not porn.. And yes, it's about celebrating what makes you beautiful and comfortable. Like this cozy and sexy sweater and leg warmer outfit.

2. You Need To Do It For Someone Else

We are all about celebrating YOU! Now, we are not saying boudoir photos do not make a great gift. To be honest, we love it when our clients feel confident enough to share such a personal experience with others. If you are having a session to share with someone else or doing it just for you, both are perfect reasons to show off the Rockstar you are!

3. You Need The Perfect Body

If you have a body, then it is perfect for a boudoir photo shoot! We are all about loving ourselves at this very moment, no matter the season of life, and fully believe that all bodies are beautiful. To us, it’s important to celebrate YOU. Celebrate all that you’ve accomplished and endured, because you are worth it. You might surprise yourself, and even learn to love your body and thank it for all it’s given you. No matter what, boudoir is for every woman. 4. You Need Expensive Lingerie

This is a big myth. It may surprise you, but I always direct clients to sites like AMAZON, Shein, Yandy and more for lingerie options. Whether you are working with a budget or want something affordable, just hop on over to those sites. You would be amazed at how many beautiful options are out there for reasonable prices.

Booked your session but need more help? All of our sessions come with a prep and design chat where we will help you pick out the best outfits for you and your budget.

5. You Have To Wear Lingerie

Repeat after me! You – do – not – have – to – wear – lingerie during your shoot. Your session is always about YOU and what makes YOU feel beautiful and sexy. Some go for a lovely bra and panty set, others choose an oversized shirt and boyshorts, or some prefer to go with a simplistic sheet. The options are endless!

Props are another great choice in lieu of lingerie.. Our only rule is we do not allow animals in our studio. If you browse our gallery page you can see a variety of options from our lovely ladies to give you some inspiration for your own session.
