Myth About Boudoir Photography

Myth About Boudoir Photography. I recently came across a comment on social media that broke my heart:

“I’m too fat, ugly, and old; but I hope the right one has a lovely session.”

If you’ve ever thought of something similar, let’s talk. Because this belief is wrong—and I want to explain exactly why.

Too fat? No such thing. Boudoir is about embracing your body as it is right now, not waiting for some imaginary “perfect” version of yourself. I’ve photographed women of all sizes, from petite to plus, and let me tell you—confidence and self-love are what make a boudoir session powerful, not a number on the scale.

First, beauty is not defined by airbrushed magazine covers. Second, I’ve never photographed a woman who didn’t have something breathtaking about her—whether it’s her eyes, her smile, her energy, or the way she completely transforms when she starts feeling comfortable and powerful in front of the camera. You are beautiful. Period.

Too old? Nope. I’ve worked with women in their 40s, 50s, and even 60s who walked into their session feeling hesitant and walked out feeling unstoppable. Hell, I even photographed a woman in her 70s—and I still wanna know what she uses for her skin because WOW. 😍 Age doesn’t disqualify you from feeling sexy, confident, and beautiful. If anything, it gives you even more reason to celebrate yourself.

If you’re cheering for other women but holding yourself back, I want you to ask: Why not me? You don’t need to be younger, thinner, or look any different to deserve this experience. You deserve to feel beautiful just as you are.

A boudoir session is more than photos—it’s a reminder that you are enough. Right now. As you are. No changes required.

So next time you catch yourself saying, “I could never do that”, I want you to replace it with:

👉 “I deserve to feel beautiful.”
👉 “I am enough.”
👉 “I can do this for ME.”

Because you can—and you should. 💖

If you’ve ever thought about boudoir but held yourself back, let’s talk. I promise you’re not to anything—you’re just right. And I’d love to show you that. It is all a myth about boudoir photography.
