What to Wear to Your Boudoir Session

Welcome back for the next blog post in our Boudoir Session series. This is one of our favorite topics- What to Wear to Your Boudoir Session!

We firmly believe that what is on the outside should be a reflection of what is on the inside. With that in mind, picking outfits that make you feel confident is the most important part. Staying true to yourself is the best thing you can do when picking your selections.

Before your session, look through websites and catalogues for some outfit inspiration. Try a matching bra & panty set, mismatched bras & panties, corsets & garter belts, silk slips, bodysuits, rompers, or a robe. Whatever makes you feel confident and sexy!

Bodysuits are my favorite!

We are going to start right off with one of my favorite outfits. Bodysuits come in all colors, shapes, sizes, materials, etc. We have seen many come through our doors and we have never seen one we did not adore. They can hide areas you may not be feeling too confident about and highlight the features you love. They can range from conservative to daring so you cannot go wrong with a bodysuit.

The classic bra and panty set for your boudoir session

Whether it is a matching set or not, the bra and panty look is always a great option. Spice it up a little with a garter and thigh-high stockings or throw on a robe for a flirty look.

The corset

Most of the time when you think of something sexy to wear, the corset is one of the top things you probably think about. Honestly, what’s not to love? It cinches and enhances in all of the right places. It can pair with a lot of different options, too. We have seen the full blown sexy looks with garters and stockings along with dressing it up with unique bottoms and accessories.

It does not always have to be about lingerie

Feeling confident in what you are wearing is what it is all about! Be it your favorite jeans, your spouses favorite shirt, or that dress you cannot get enough of- bring them on in! We also love a sweater paired with boy shorts, boxers or leggings! It is the perfect comfy-sexy look. Wearing something that reflects your personal style, even if it is not lingerie, is always a great choice because in the end, the session is for you!

The finishing touches to wear to your boudoir session

I always say that accessories are the side dishes to complement the main course. Whether you love diamonds, pearls, or custom jewelry, these additions will boost your confidence and add that finishing touch to your photos. Think about how a pair of earrings can frame your face or how necklaces of different lengths can draw attention to your décolletage. Of course, if you are doing an engagement or wedding shoot, bring your gorgeous ring, veil or wedding shoes. We will go over which accessories will photograph best and add that little something extra to your looks.

Accessories are not limited to jewelry. If you have a spouse in the military then dog tags or parts of their uniform make a perfect addition. If you or your spouse is a sports fanatic you can bring in equipment like footballs, gloves, helmets, etc. We even had a client bring in a stack of law books and glasses for a sexy reference to her fiancé who was in law school. The possibilities are endless here.

Don’t forget the shoes!

Finally, we must mention shoes! A killer pair of heels lengthens our legs, rounds out our derriere, and makes your photos weak-in-the-knees worthy. It also adds that final touch of sexiness to your look. Keep in mind that if you want to do thigh-high stockings and heels, be sure your shoes are closed-toe. It reminds us of an old lady- haha! Make sure you bring a few pairs of shoes with you to your session. I recommend wearing a nude or black pair of heels. Chances are that even if they are a touch uncomfortable to walk in, they are going to look amazing in the photographs. Trust me on that.
