Welcome everyone to another one of our Boudoir Session series blogs. To recap, we have been through Why You Should Have a Boudoir Session, Prepping for Your Boudoir Session, What to Wear to Your Boudoir Session, and now we have The Day of Your Boudoir Session.
So the big day has finally come and you are full of excitement and butterflies. Believe me I know, because that is just how I felt at my own session. That is why I am here to walk you through the process, so you will know exactly what to expect.
I know that this experience is going to be life-changing for you, even if when walking in you do not know that yet. This time is all about you and what will make you feel confident and beautiful inside and out. This is a day to spoil yourself, so we want to make it a time for you to relax and not be nervous at all.
The first step takes place before you even step foot in the studio
Once you book your session, I will set up a meeting between us for a pre-planning call. We will go over prep leading up to your session, because there are a few tips and tricks to have you looking fresh and ready for your shoot. We also talk about some hair and makeup ideas for you to start thinking about.
Outfits are a big deal when it comes to your session, so we will definitely go over some ideas and offer advice for different looks and how they will look for the camera. This is all about YOU, so your session will be customized to what you want the overall look to be.
So how will the day start?
When you come to our private boutique boudoir studio, you will first be greeted by myself and our fabulous makeup artist. We are an all-female staff and love to have a great time during our sessions, which means a lot of laughs and girl talk.
Then I will sit down with you and go over your outfits. One of the things I mentioned in our What to Wear to Your Boudoir Session post is that I always recommend bringing in 1-2 extras, especially if you cannot decide between some of your choices. I am always willing to give advice about outfits and which options will achieve the look you are going for.
After we pick your 3 outfits, you will talk to our artist about what you want for hair and makeup. After about an hour of beautification, you will change into your first outfit and then your session begins!
Ready for your closeup
Most women who come in are nervous about posing. Well, that is where I work my magic and become your Fairy Posemother. I will guide you through it all right down to your fingertips and I promise you will get a laugh out of watching me get into all of the positions! I always say if it does not hurt then you are not doing it right.
In no time you will be feeling like a supermodel and your inner beauty will take center stage as your confidence builds during your session. It happens to everyone and the camera is there to capture it all!
Same day viewing sounds too good to be true, but it’s not!
After we finish your session, you will be able to change and head out for a bite to eat. I always recommend The District Eatery & Tap Barrel because it is my favorite spot to grab some amazing food. Of course Downtown Sanford has many other options, but I just love the food at The District. Their cheeseburger is my go to!
After about an hour you will come back and view your photos. That’s right! You do not have to wait weeks or even days to see your images. You will be able to pick the ones you love and place your order right then and there. We have a variety of products, which we will go over in our next blog post.
Now you are all prepared for what to expect the day of your boudoir session.
